Looking Over a Beginner's Shoulder

I found Going online to mine wealth of genealogy data a bit like being a voyeur. It's like watching someone who's Internet-savvy, but genealogy-clueless, doing their first online roots-seeking session. Apparently, for instance, it hadn't occurred to her to ask for details readily known by her in-laws before hitting the Internet -- so not surprisingly, she was overwhelmed with candidates. Ah, well . . . she'll learn!

Megan, I can't get your link to work. It redirects to http://www.w3.org/Protocols/

Hi Dana, until Megan can respond, here is a corrected version of the link:
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06229/714276-96.stm

I couldn't finish the article myself. The writer referring to herself in the plural, over and over again, put me in the mind to ask her if she had a frog in her pocket.

I don't know why...LOL...

Hi Dana and Lee,

Thanks for letting me know. I've corrected the link. And yeah, I was amused by the "royal we" as well!

Take care,
Megan
